First, Do No Harm: Dr. Fauci and the Moral Crusade of Vaccination

Dr Christine Grady, former Director of NIH Bioethics and wife of Dr Anthony Fauci after his US Senate Hearing on July 29, 2026 were he was disgraced and humiliated by US Senators for his corrupt actions.

They're in such total denial of the devastation all around us and are certain that as long as the messengers are all shot, then all is well.

Please forgive me for displaying the vulgarity, but it highlights what may be the most relevant lesson from the suffering of Semmelweis, as it relates to the failures of medicine.  The photo and caption were clipped from an email from Dr. Peter McCullough.

Nobody disputes that Semmelweis made a great discovery, although he didn't understand what exactly it was. He published his observations and many people became aware of them. Many people participated in the experiments where he divided a cohort of patients into 2 groups, a control and the test subjects. Only the people who treated the test subjects were required to wash their hands. The disease related to the ordinary unsanitary conditions killed a typical number in the control groups and almost none in the test subjects groups.

At the time, lot of people understood the significance of Semmelweis' discovery. Most of them didn't exercise much influence, but some doctors became convinced of the importance of understanding sanitary practices.

One of those doctors was a close associate of Semmelweis. When he realized that he had been killing his own patients, including his own wife, rather than using the emotional impact of this discovery to fuel his motivation to support Semmelweis and spread the word, he killed himself.

I expect that many people who had similar realizations did what they could to distance themselves from their past. It's a very human thing. It's much less painful than facing one's own failures. Besides, if they supported Semmelweis, they faced the same rejection he faced, which was total.

This history can be used to understand our present dilemma better. Dr. Fauci and his armies of supporters have a very difficult time facing their errors. If the improperly developed mRNA vaccine is as bad as even Fauci privately acknowledged in his diary, then there is serious culpability associated with promoting and administration of the "vaccine".

I use quote marks because this stuff was completely different than any vaccine of the past. It was a genetically modifying substance that converted the body's genetic machinery to produce spike protein, a seriously dangerous substance that became the antigen that caused such havoc in the bodies of at least some of those receiving the shots.

When guilt is widely shared in a population, it may not lead to repentance. Instead, the guilty may refuse to accept their error (believing in the exoneration from good intentions) and attack those who expose their guilt, as the photo shows.

This can cause a strong cohesion to develop among the guilty. This may have resulted in the suppression of Semmelweis' discovery, which led to avoidable countless deaths due to infection in the decades between his discovery and when the awareness of the causes of infection became a subject of medical training.

Think of it. Millions of innocent people suffering and dying because doctors of Semmelweis' time refused to face their part in causing disease, iatrogenesis.

Iatrogenesis is still a major cause of avoidable illness and death. This fact is not disputed.

I do not totally condemn the medical profession.  Clearly, the carnage of the covid era must be elucidated, at whatever cost to medical professionals, no matter how well intentioned they might have been.  We can honor the good intentions of noble professionals and still recognize and take steps to correct their errors.

The unfortunate aspects of human nature put on display in this sad episode are also present in the broader subject of scientific research generally.

Dr. Jonathan Phillips relates in his series that several closely associated professionals in his elite circles as a chemistry and physics professor and senior scientist at Los Alamos National Lab, became quite well informed about the theoretical and empirical basis of support for the work of Dr. Randell Mills, but they refused to allow their names to become associated with the work.

Most people shy away from controversy.  Many who indulge in it do so for egoistic or political reasons.  It is understandable, but most unfortunate for humanity.
